Sisters Earn First-Place Finishes at Capital City Swim Meet


Sisters Erin and Kate Oehrle, members of the Runnels varsity swim team, placed first overall in two events at their first competition of the year, the Capital City Swim League (CCSL) Meet held Sept. 16 at Crawfish Aquatics.  


Junior Erin Oehrle swam to first-place in the Girls 50-Yard Freestyle and sophomore Kate Oehrle came in first in the Girls 100-Yard Breaststroke.


Erin also turned in a fourth-place finish in the Girls 100-Yard Backstroke, and Kate was sixth in the Girls 50-Yard Freestyle.


Also competing for Runnels on the varsity swim team are freshman Alexis Duos, sophomore Barrett Couvillon, junior Hudson Hillman, and seniors Seth Miller, Ian Lansing, Steven Spivak, and Spencer Spivak. Coaching the team are Matthew Kiggans and Leighanne Kiggans.
