Runnels Summer Drama Camp Stages Disney's "Peter Pan, Jr."


     The Runnels Summer Production Camp in association with Third Wheel Theatre presented Disney’s Peter Pan, Jr. in the Gladys Hague Runnels Theatre on June 28 and 29.

     Jointly directed by theatre professionals and educators Neena McLain, Jorge Ponjuan, and Cristin Ponjuan, the musical featured the talents of 54 campers in grades 2 through 10 from Runnels and several other area schools.

     Special guests invited to attend daytime performances included more than 600 campers from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Baton Rouge.

     Featured in the show were Sammie Schilling as Peter Pan, Phoebe Koontz as Tinker Bell, Molly Bush as Wendy, Ethan Ly as John, Harper Guay as Michael, Sofia Dodd as Princess Tiger Lily, Josh Freeman as Captain Hook, and Gibson Guay as Smee. Mr. and Mrs. Darling were played by Thomas Worsham and Sophia Horridge. Sarah Golda portrayed Nana and Eddie Tunis played the part of the Crocodile.

     Handling back stage duties were camp counselors Madaleine Alessi, Jacques Desporte, Camille Doucet, Sophie Edwards, Taylor Koontz, Peter Lukinovich, Madisyn McAlister, Dino Pellissier, Tyler Robbins, Sophia Torres, and Landon Simpson.

     Vocal direction was provided by Jorge Ponjuan, with choreography by Cristin Ponjuan. Madalyn Arboneaux was the stage manager, Neena McLain handled the lights, Kate Kelfstrom presided over the sound board, and Madisan Milam was in charge of costume management.
     Next year's presentation at Runnels Summer Production Camp is scheduled to be Disney's High School Musical!
