Jr./Sr. High Principal's Welcome

Conchetta FosheeJunior and Senior High School Principal, Assistant Head of School

Dear Parents and Students,

The success of our junior and senior high school is measured by that of our students.

In our 2018 graduating class, we had 4 National Merit Scholars, 16 AP Scholars, 4 recipients of music scholarships, and 6 athletes recruited for college teams.

Nearly all of the graduates qualified for TOPS, with 77% eligible for the higher tiers of TOPS and 61% qualifying for the highest level, the TOPS honors award. Scholarship offers -- not including TOPS -- totaled more than $8,324,416, with 43% of the class receiving offers in the 6-figure range. The average ACT score of the Runnels Class of 2018 was 28.1, the highest ever recorded in the school's history.

Runnels students excel in all areas—Academics, Arts and Athletics.  We have a challenging curriculum of more than 140 high school level classes, all of which meet Louisiana State Board of Regents Standards. We also offer 20 Advanced Placement courses for college credit. A comprehensive visual and performing arts program along with our wide range of Division II sports add a unique balance to our program. Whether their interests are in the classroom, on the stage, or playing sports, our students are prepared for college, their careers, and life.

At Runnels, we challenge the individual student. Our committed teachers, staff and coaches guide our students in a community of respect and compassion. We provide quality college-preparatory instruction in a small classroom environment that is enhanced with SMARTboards and 1:1 technology. Each junior and senior high student is issued a laptop for schoolwork to use at our fully wireless campus and at home.

Runnels graduates are prepared to meet the future with confidence and pride. We invite you to visit our campus and be part of "The Runnels Experience."

Yours truly,
